New Beginnings

"You're gonna be late."

"It's okay. I just want to be here for a bit more."

"It's not your fault though!"

"But I should have been stronger for them."

". . ."

Three genin waited in the classroom for their sensei who was supposed to be here about half an hour ago. A blond spikey haired, considerably short boy walked around in circles and whined about how late their sensei was. A pink haired girl shouted at the blond to shut up while and male with dark (butt duck like) hair grunted in anger.

"He should be here already!" shouted the blond.

"Shut up Naruto! You should be more patient, right Sasuke?" said the pink haired girl as she drooled over him.

"But SAAAAKURA!"

"He should be here soon," Sasuke replied in a deep voice.

They heard the door open and in walked a man with spikey dark hair. Another man with spikey grey hair soon followed and he two were arguing about some book called "Icha Icha Paradise." The dark haired man whispered something in the light haired man's ear, receiving a smack in the head.

"There are genin here don't talk about scenes in the book NOW!" huffed the man with spiky silver hair, "Follow me and let's begin."

"Why don't we in introduce ourselves first? Things you like, things you hate, your dreams for the future, your hobbies."

"Why don't you go first sensei?" asked Naruto.

"Me? I'm Kakashi Hatake. For things I like and things I hate . . . I don't feel like telling you. Dreams for the future . . . never really thought about it. And for hobbies, I have lots of hobbies."

The three genin sweat dropped at his reply.

"Kakashi, you should be more detailed," he chuckled and turned to the three, "I'm Obito Uchiha, Sasuke's cousin! I like ramen, my dream is to be a great ninja, and I my hobbies are making excuses for being late. And I hate that Kakashi has a bigger collection or por-OW!"

"Do you want to finish that sentence," said Kakashi as he gave him a death glare and cracked his knuckles.

"I-I'm good," Obito replied with his hands raised up in defense.

"Now you guys go," replied Kakashi as he glanced at them with his eye.

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki. I love ramen. I hate the three minutes you have to wait for the ramen to cook. I like tasting different types of ramen and comparing them and my dream for the future is to become the future Hokage!" said Naruto with a big silly grin.

"My name is Sakura Haruno. The thing I like, I mean the person I like is um . . . My hobby is um . . . My dream for the future is Ek!" said Sakura as she continually glanced at Sasuke.

Obito gave Sasuke a thumbs up sign, but got a glare in return. Obito then started sulking in the corner.

"Okay, you're last," said Kakashi as he pointed to Sasuke.

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I don't particularly like anything and I hate a lot of things. What I want is not a dream because I will make it reality. I want to kill a certain someone and revive my clan," said Sasuke.

Kakashi glanced at Obito who was looking at Sasuke with concerned eyes. Kakashi remembered what Obito told him about THAT night.

Obito ran through the Uchiha District and met Itachi Uchiha, standing above a little body that has fainted to the ground. He walked over and sipped his arms under the tiny body and held the boy to his chest. He glanced at Itachi with sorrowful eyes.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" asked Obito.

"Yes. I will protect the Hidden Leaf forever, even if they hate me," whispered Itachi.

"I could take over. People already know that I am considered abnormal for not having the aura of an Uchiha," said Obito.

"I will go through with this. Take care of Sasuke for me," replied Itachi and he turned and disappeared into the shadows.

Obito quickly rushed over to the hospital and had Sasuke taken care of. Then he met with the Hokage and reported that the mission was complete. The Uchiha Clan had been destroyed.

Kakashi glanced at Obito from where he sat. They both had regrets. Obito wished that he had been able to help Itachi and that time. Kakashi narrowed his eyes when he remembered that time. Rin's blooded soaked body and how they had used all the medical knowledge they knew to try to save her, but it was useless. Minato sensei died several years later, sealing the nine tails with his death.

"Kakashi sensei?"

"Yes?" Kakashi looked us to worried gazes from his new students.

He smiled at how the three worried about someone that they didn't even know very well yet. This was a new beginning. It is time to let go of the past.
